The Sparkling Pixel Award

The Website award was created to recognize the significance of the Internet as a communications tool. Because of the explosive growth of the Web as a mean to access information, clubs cannot afford to ignore the impact that this new form of communication will have on Toastmasters. This award recognizes the excellence of webmasters in presenting their club/area/division and Toastmasters on the Web.

Even though a club may have a web site, each webmaster must submit an entry for the contests for every year that it wishes to enter. Once the entries are received, a team of judges will evaluate the web sites and render a decision. The Sparkling Pixel award award winner will be announced at the awards presentation at the annual District 59 Spring Conference.

Eligibility

The contest for the awards is open to all club webmasters in District 59.

To enter the contest, please send an e-mail message to the District 59 Public Relations Officer pro@district59.org stating your intention to enter. The entry must also clearly list the following information:

Name of the club/area/division
Number of the club
Name of the webmaster
Address of the club/area/division web site (URL)
Three specific sections of the site that you wish to highlight (with the addresses of these pages)

Entries will be judged on the site's content and design, with the emphasis clearly on the quality of the content presented by the site, as follows:

Promotion (20)
Education (15)
Member Information (15)
Integration (5)
Administrative Content (5)

Presentation - 40%
Navigation and Organization (25)
Page Design/Layout (15)

Entry Deadline To be eligible, entries must be sent, no later than April 30th, to the District 59 Public Relations Officer at pro@district59.org.
