District Outstanding Toastmaster of the Year

"Recognizing a district's tip top Toastmaster  

This is typically awarded to a Toastmaster who is not a top district officer, division governor or area governor, but who makes a significant contribution to the goals and mission of the district."

The last year´s Toastmaster of the year has been appointed by District Governor 2008/09 Greg Palmer. It was his honor to present the award to

Morag Mathieson

at the Fall District 59 Conference in Hamburg at Nov, 22 2009.

Morag has contributed a lot to Toastmasters. To list everything might fill several pages. Let us "just" name some extraordinary achievements:

Morag stepped in with a team to organize the Fall District 59 Conference 2008 in Bamberg. She led her team to organize one of the best conferences our district ever had.
Morag conducts Youth Leadership Programs to show teenagers how to improve their public speaking
Morag helps continually in her area clubs to build.

Nominate the District Outstanding Toastmaster of the Year 2009/2010

Any member may submit a nomination writeup in email form directly to the district governor. He/she will base my judgement on the criteria listed in the suggestion checklist with any other achievement you consider extraordinary. Please be as specific as you can, describe measurable actions of the nominee and and relating how their actions directly contributed to our District mission.

"I will definitely look and orient myself at this checklist - it provides valuable information which might be hidden otherwise.
Nevertheless I will look also on other aspects. Especially if I heard the name of the suggested person in other circumstances than district officer role (like somebody talked enthusiastically about this person in the past). Also I take into consideration if this person is being suggested from more than one person.
Anybody can nominate a person to this award. Please fill in the form and provide a good explanation. Give me a picture of what the Toastmaster contributed which is so extraordinary or outstanding."
