Division Governor of the Year

Given annually to the division governor with the most outstanding performance in membership building and retention, club extension, education/training, leadership and other areas critical to district success.

Division Governor of the year has been awarded by District Governor 2008/09 Greg Palmer. It was his honor to present the award to

at the Fall District 59 Conference in Hamburg at Nov, 22 2009.

Jaap has been a dedicated Toastmaster for years and chose to prolong his Division Governor role for another year. In his second year he achieved especially:

The preparation of a smooth split of Division B into clubs of the english-speaking Benelux countries "new" Division B and the clubs of Netherlands into brand new Division J
Jaap made a difference in his division. He had even two candidates who wanted to follow his footsteps in Division J
Jaap always encouraged people to improve and empowered them to achieve that
Jaap has demonstrated excellent leadership skills which inspired other people to invest more energy into their personal development

Nominate the Division Governor of the Year 2009/2010

Any member may submit a nomination writeup in email form directly to the district governor. He/she will base my judgement on the criteria listed in the suggestion checklist with any other achievement you consider extraordinary. Please be as specific as you can, describe measurable actions of the nominee and and relating how their actions directly contributed to our District mission.

The nomination form gives you an idea what Toastmasters expects from a good Division Governor. Nevertheless sometimes it´s not only the statistical performance which makes the difference and adds to the district´s success. All nominations will be checked thoroughly for a fair judgement.
