Area Governor of the Year
This award recognizes an area governor whose dedication, commitment, and area team significantly contributed towards achieving the district mission.
Area Governor of the Year 2008/2009
Area Governor of the year has been awarded by District Governor 2008/09 Greg Palmer. It was his honor to present the award to
João de Mendonca
at the Fall District 59 Conference in Hamburg at Nov, 22 2009.
João has been an example Area Governor. He is enthusiastic and leads his team to success. Among his achievements are:
- An excellent organization of a Division Conference. He led his team to best performances. Not only was this a huge conference with over 160 attendees, he engaged sponsors and world class speakers.
- João led his area to be a President´s Distinguished Area.
- João is an easy-Speak guru - supporting the team to train and help clubs to implement it into their club life.
- João regularly comes to district executive committee meetings and district conferences to network
Thank you so much for your continuing enthusiasm and contribution to the district.
Nominate the Area Governor of the Year 2009/2010
Any member may submit a nomination writeup in email form directly to the district governor. He/she will base my judgement on the criteria listed in the suggestion checklist with any other achievement you consider extraordinary. Please be as specific as you can, describe measurable actions of the nominee and and relating how their actions directly contributed to our District mission.
The nomination form gives you an idea what Toastmasters expects from a good Area Governor. Nevertheless sometimes it´s not only the statistical performance which makes the difference and adds to the district´s success. All nominations will be checked thoroughly for a fair judgement.
